• Notes

  Robert Pooley born circa 1710 does not show in any christening records that I or others have been able to find. The records that do exist for Pooleys, various spellings show a number of generations all with Robert as a consistent christian name. Robert was not that common a name at that time. Take this together with gaps in records and gaps in births in the known families and it is highly probable that the updates on the tree are correct or at least within the same family groups going backwards. Hence two more Robert Pooleys going back to 1640. Sometimes in family history you have to take the evidence that's available. Robert b c 1675 fits into record gaps for Robert c 1640.
